The approach in which education policies and programmes have undertaken in specific regards to Pasifika students has evolved over time. In saying this, the structure too has changed in that the definition of ‘success’, ‘appropriate teaching methods’ and ‘learning styles’ are just some of many new concepts that have been incorporated into the direction in which education is moving towards.
Not only are education policies made at top levels but changes right down to grass-roots level are being made in response to areas that these education policies have yet to attend or overlooked.
The following clip is an example of a programme that is run at the University of Auckland called ‘DREAM fonotaga’ that hopes to establish some real face connections that high school kids can see-a tangible effort on the behalf of educational motivation targetted at Pasifika high school senior students.
