- Peer review the resilience assessment framework with a selection of evaluation and planning staff from councils, and researchers with expertise in resilience (Including MCDEM, GNS, CCCR)
- Trial the assessment framework on a council policy or planning process to evaluate the framework’s effectiveness and ease of implementation. Refine or further develop as required.
- Further develop the framework to include multi-scale analysis, trialing household, neighborhood/catchment/community/city- region scales.
- Coordinate an ongoing programme of urban research on adaptive settlements, climate change and peak oil, and set up a community of practice between urban councils and central government (in particular MSD, MED, NZTA, MfE, EECA and MCDEM), and research agencies. The community of practice should build upon existing communities including the ICLEI councils programme[1] and MCDEM’s resilience research group.
