Though it may be met by disbelief in a nation perceived as a ‘land of plenty’, food insecurity is a reality for many New Zealand children who attend primary school without any provisions for lunch on a regular basis. This policy report considers the case for government-funded lunch provision in New Zealand primary schools as a means for alleviating child hunger.
