Message from the Author:
I chose this topic after consulting arts community leaders in Auckland on what concerns they had for the sector. I have personal interests in the arts community through my experience as a business owner in the fashion industry and web design industry. I am dedicated to encouraging greater research in the sector and support through public policy. I embrace policy research as an analytical tool for initiating change in society.
I am looking forward to exploring these issues in more detail and canvassing opinions of the members of the arts sectors. I will be undertaking research into a dissertation topic in early 2010. Please let me know if you can help this project in any way or would like to volunteer as an interview subject.
