Bus Lanes

What you should know

A bus lane is a dedicated lane for buses (also motorcycles and bicycles) either at all times or at all times or at certain specified periods as required to overcome congestions along roads.[1] These times are illustrated with signs and symbols and the bus lane itself is coloured green (in some areas), which makes for immediate recognition. Vehicles that venture into bus lanes within priority time periods are likely to be fined by the Auckland City Council. The current policy is to charge $150 for bus lane infringements, which is arguably quite excessive.
