The problem with non-point source discharges
The streams, rivers and lakes of New Zealand are a public resource which many New Zealanders identify with and derive benefit from. Land use intensification associated with farming has resulted in additional contaminants leaching into waterways and has caused serious degradation. New policy solutions are necessary to ensure that farming practices are sustainable. This report is written for stakeholders who are interested in addressing the problem of non-point source discharges causing declining water quality in New Zealand.
