This website sets out information on environmental co-management and discusses the Waikato-Tainui Raupatu Settlement for a healthier Waikato River.
It is the role of all New Zealanders to mobilise for sustainability – for ourselves and future generations – and in doing so, recognise that our greatest means of achieving these goals begins with our attitudes and our choices.
The Environmental Governance Project advocates for co-management as a model for New Zealand’s environmental governance. It is based on the notion of kaitiakitanga and encourages cooperation, integration, and restoration of the integrity of New Zealand’s environment and resources.
