Appendix One
Questions for Barbara Thompson
Interview conducted on Monday 7, September 09 at Child, Youth, and Families Onehunga.
Specific questions
- Could you give me a brief outline of what CYFs does?
- What was the older system (the one prior to the differential response model) and how did it work?
- What is the new system (the differential response model) and how does this work?
- What was the reason (or reasons) for a change in system?
- Did you note problems with the older system? If so, what were they specifically?
- Where did you get this system, what is it modelled on?
- How did you test this model?
- How did you measure success?
- Do you see it working in other areas of your service, or other welfare agencies? If so, where and which agencies?
General questions
- What kind of group do you consider best to conduct follow-ups – a centralised group, located in one region (i.e. a main office and then referrals sent to relevant service providers) or community-based groups found within the region?
- In your opinion, do you consider a centralised or decentralised database better for information gathering?
