The Auckland Council can choose to not develop a youth-targeted eGovernment system, however in the long-run consultation costs will likely continue to be high and the political engagement of youth with local government will likely continue to decrease.
| ESTABLISH A NON-TARGETED WEBSITE:
While youth may engage with council through a standard council website it has been noted that they are often marginalised in the status-quo approach to consultation, therefore this approach would be less effective than the recommendations.
| PUT MORE RESOURCES INTO PROMOTING ENGAGEMENT THROUGH SCHOOLS AND ADVERTISEMENTS:
This approach may lead to greater youth engagement with local government but it is unlikely to be as beneficial as a holistic adoption of youth-targeted eGovernment, and is likely to be less cost-effective.
